The Electrolux dishwasher on display has a 30-minute quick cycle that claims to get dishes just as clean as a normal cycle. The company says that consumers have been clamoring for shorter wash times. Consumer Reports … (read more)

GE dishwasher’s bottle-washing jets speed cleaning
Baby bottles that rolled under the car’s back seat, energy-drink bottles left in a gym bag over the weekend, and other artifacts from our busy lifestyles are the obvious inspiration for a new feature found in some GE dishwashers. In the top rack of select models, you can put containers with small openings, such as baby and sports bottles and other tall, narrow items, over four upright jets positioned on the right side. CES 2013: LG claims easy oven cleaning in just 20 minutes
Cleaning the oven is such a detested chore that some cooks admit to running the cleaning cycle of their range or wall oven only once during its lifetime. For almost as long, appliance makers have been looking for an easier way. LG took the plunge this week when it introduced a new series of self-cleaning, large-capacity ovens with a new coating called Aqua Clean Enamel at the Consumer Electronics Show.
